8/4 Sunday Afternoon (Day 9)

As we got close to the track, we could hear some motors & thought, cool there is a race going on.

We pulled up to the gate just to look, and the guy came & said we could not go in.


Here's a track map. We were by T at the bottom of the map.

This one she is around the corner of the gate faking like she is going to drive in. Ha, crazy lady :)

We said we were not planning on going in, we just wanted to drive by. As we were talking to him another person came up & asked if everything was OK. Through talking to them they started to explain what kind of race it was, and we said we knew about it since we AutoX. The lady left & the guy said we could go over to the track, look, & take a photo.


This is what you could see of the track from the gate. We got to walk up just to the right of the American Family Insurance sign (to the left). So the photos of the track are taken from there.

So we did. Hare are a couple we got.

When we got back and were getting in the car, the lady came back and said don't leave. She did something & came back & said sign the waver and you can go up the hill & watch the last couple of races.

I had to get some shots of these. Pat used to have Fiat X19 The white car to the right.


We got there to late to see the Spec Miata class, but we did get to see a couple of them leave.

While watching we talked to the couple next to us who had season passes. I'm not sure, but if you look at the photo of Pat below the Insurance sign above, it might be the people we talked to at the top right (the guy with the yellow shirt). He used to race a Vette here before he retired. He can't afford it now, so he just watches. We left before the last race as we still had over 6 or 7 hours of driving left. The drive back was OK, nothing great, just flat straight roads. We got within the last hour of the trip and it cut loose with rain. So we left and got back in the rain and it only rained one other time on us during the whole trip. Not bad I'd say.
