One of the nights, it was getting kinda late & already after dark when we decided to stop for the night. We pulled into a motel to stop for the night, and it had a gas station as the main office for the Motel. Both where closed when we got there, but there was a sign on the window that said to call a number if we needed to talk to someone. We thought great, we will call the nubmer and get a room, but there was a problem. The pay phone that the sign said to call from was in the locked entrance way for the gas staion so we had to make the call. Pat had a cell phone, but we where so far out in the boonies that there was no signal.
As we stood outside and tried to decide what to do, a truck pulled up and only cracked the window to ask if we needed help. We said, "Yes, we wanted to rent a room." The lady was still a little leary of us, but finall opened up & rented us a room. As we where paying, she said they have had vandalism & other problems, so they locked to door to the pay phone. We thought that was nice. Tell people to call, but lock the door so they can't. As we where paying, she said in a very excited voice that they have coffee and Honey Buns in the morning. We thought great, we will have something to eat in the morning :)
In the morning we came down to get some honey buns and drinks. In the morning we could see more what the area was like. The motel was a fishermans place. It had overlooks to overlook the river that it was on. There where docks for them as well. So we headed down to get our honey buns, but when we got there, it was honey buns (like the one above) in the wrapper & coffee. There was a large room & cafiteria being built in the back, but as of then, it was just gas station food. That was a little disappointing as we where expecting fresh honey buns & coffee, but it did give us a new joke. Every time we see honey buns like this we say in an excited voice that they have honey buns LOL
So if you ever hear us say, "They have honey buns, you will know what we are talking about :)"
