We got everything packed in my car and where ready to go. We got the electric cooler on the roll bar behind the drivers seat, a backpack full of snacks on the roll bar behind the pass seat, the cars runnin', Pat's in it, waitin for me :) Lets Go!

Once we met with the group, we spent most of the day on 4 lane roads on our way down to MO. We stopped a few times along the way. The first stop was at a rest area where we took a short break. As we where pulling into the rest area, there was one of our group parked along the side of the road. As we pulled in the rest area we found out why. I have never heard of this happening in a Miata, but as passenger had her hat start to blow off. As she grabbed for it and got it settled down she noticed her glasses where gone. They blew off and out of the car. I have never even come close to losing my hat, much less my glasses. They looked along the road, and then pulled into the rest area and looked in the car. They were no where to be found. She said they were not a very strong prescription, so she could get along with out them. So we all continued.

We drove for another couple of hours & stopped for lunch. We passed several towns that had names from all over the world. We decided this could be a theme for the trip & started taking photos of the ones we could.

Along the way Pat & I knew we were going to have another rest break. As we where driving, we where having problems talking to people on the CB. We could usually hear them...or so we thought. Then all of a sudden we wondered why there where no Miata's and there was no one talking on the CB. We called Bill Luxon on his cell since he WAS right in front of us. and asked where they where. He said they stopped for a break. Hmmm...we didn't hear about that. We pulled over at a gas station and took our own break. I checked the antenna. We had problems with it before, but we would never think of it after it was off the car. When looking at it, I saw that it almost broke completely in half. There was only a little insulation holding it together. So the important parts where broken in half. No wonder we couldn't talk. We waited for a while longer, and along they came. We just jumped in line :) We left the CB on and with the stub of an antenna we could hear fine, just no talkin'.

There where not many twisty roads, but we got photos of what we could.

Now that's a huge cone!

It's kinda tough to see, but there be Miata's in the mirror.

Not really a twisty road, but it has a Miata in it :)

We drove on using two lane roads going the final distance to the hotel (it had free high speed internet!). Once there we all gathered together and picked a time to meet and leave for dinner before heading off to our rooms to unpack. After unpacking & regrouping we where ready to leave for dinner, but Pat & I decided to go to a Radio Shack on the way and see if we could get a new coax connector for the CB. As we let everyone know what we where doing, we got something else to get while there. We were to get a couple of pairs of Cigarette Lighter splitters. We found Radio Shack...well the GPS found it & led us there... got everything we needed and were off to eat. The GPS even led us to the restaurant, but once there we decided we were not hungry and decided to just sit and talk.

There aren't many photos today as there was not much to take pictures of on a 4 lane road :)
