We started the day with Pat getting up first & then me. While she was in the shower I decided to get up & go potty. When I leaned down to lift the lid I got a stabbing pain in my back under my passenger side shoulder blade (he he...ok...right shoulder blade).
I hobbled back to bed & tried to lay down so it did not hurt, but I could not do it. Well, OK, I got back to bed, but every way I laid it hurt to take a deep breath which I was taking since I was up and waling around. Not that I was breathing heavy from walking around, but when just laying there in bed I was breathing very shallow. When I got up & moved around I had to breather harder, and that made it hurt.
When talking to Pat after she got out of the shower, I also had to breath harder, and that made it hurt. So doing any movement made me breath hard and get a stabbing pain. When moving my right arm in any way to try to support my weight I would get a stabbing pain. I laid there for a bit & couldn’t really do anything with out the pain. I kind of felt like a pulled muscle as, but I wasn't really sure, especially considering some of the things that have happened so far on out trip.
Yesterday I sneezed a couple of times I would feel a very slight twing in the same area, but didn't really think anything of it. Today it was it was not a slight twing...it was a stabbing pain. I got to thinking it could be something else wrong with me & I did not know if I would be able to get up & ride in a car to the hospital to check it out. Not to mention depending on what it was moving around could make it worse. Especially since I could not even really move with out the pain. I thought my safest option was to call for an ambulance.
So Pat called & had them come pick me up. I got a ride to the ambulance on their little cart, in the ambulance (no lights & sirens though), then through the hospital on the little cart thingy. They hooked me up & checked me out. Then they gave me a shot in the hip, which hurt quite a bit & for quite a while. Then they took some X-Rays. They said everything was ok & it must be a muscle spasm every time I moved it.
We headed back to the Motel, packed, took these photos just before leaving, & finally got on our way by noon.
