Day 5 (Wednesday)

To start off my birthday, the guy upstairs from us got up at 4:00 am. He was walking around and creaking the ceiling for quite a while. He finally stopped and we got back to sleep. Once we got up I started off the day by installing my new Supercharger belt. It went on easy once I figured out the trick. I did have to take off the radiator hose, but I only lost a few drops of water cuz I'm quick :)

We ran into someone having lunch along the way....MMMM, tasty!

Did I mention we found some twisty roads?

Heck, some of them even had some cool scenery in the background :)

We drove past a drive with this rock in the entrance and we thought it was cool. So we stopped and took a photo.

When we got here, we could not decide which way to go, so we stopped to figure it out. Ya gotta click on this one to check it out closer.

We drove for a while and then looked at the map to see where we needed to go. While looking at the local things we found Jack Daniel's Distillery. So we headed over there. Click here to see the photos.

After the distillery we drove a while more and decided we had better start looking for a place to stop since we had to do laundry. We found a direction to head that looked like it may have a place. As we drove we went by Tim's Dam. Well we had to stop and take a photo of it. While we where stopped a butterfly landed on my hat. That was pretty funny so we got a shot of it.

Pat said she was getting a headache from not eating, but it was to late to eat nice meal for my birthday. I was kinda disappointed by that, but oh well. So we continued looking for a place to stay and found a Key West Inn. Pat went in and found the price. When she came back out she found a chunk of paint missing on the front bumper.

There was a truck pulling a trailer that looked like it either knocked something up off the road, or something fell off of it. It looked like the item was black, and it also sounded like it went under the car. Evidently this item knocked the paint off when it hit. While standing outside looking at my paint chip, we noticed a nasty smell. So we went inside and asked the guy about it. He said it was the industries in the area and sometimes they are really bad. After I bumbed out for a bit from getting a paint chip on my birthday and being grossed out by the funky smell, we got a room.

Then we went out to eat a light dinner. Hopefully we will find some place nicer to eat for my birthday dinner tomorrow :) After eating we washed the car, and it really needed it. It looked much nicer, but it still had the paint chip :(

So we went back to the room and did laundry. Oh yea, the new belt made it all day.
